Description
We are looking for a commercially minded Finance Director with a passion for working closely with operational teams to drive excellent performance of the business.
As a member of the board the Finance Director has an excellent opportunity to take a key rolein driving and shaping the business alongside the other Directors and our Private Equity partnersLocation:
Midlands with national travel.
The business has over 500 employees across the UK. FInance & head-office is based out of Warwickshire, but flexiblity is required.
The Role:
- Be seen asa leader within the business. Have the gravitas and people skills to engage positively with both operational teams and customers.
- Produce impactful and timely board reporting on financial results and variances to budget and forecast.
- Instrumental in developing the strategy and 5year plan alongside other board members.
- Lead a finance team who have the key objective of supporting operations with producing timely key performance insights, financial reporting, forecasting and customer analysis. The finance team must be seen as being true business partners who add value tocontracts.
- Be the commercial lead both in respect of negotiations with customers and suppliers, but also understanding the key contractual terms of our contracts and ensuring adherence to them.
- Responsibility for excellent cash forecasting and management. Optimise cash flows through strong balance sheet management and control.
- Drive a strong governance and control environment.
- Lead the implementation of a suitable accounts reporting package.
- Oversee the procurement, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Be a key part of the bids team, driving production of competitive pricing and commercial solutions
- Responsibility for statutory reporting and appointment and management of external auditors.
- Control the tax planning, reporting and compliance.

- Be a qualified accountant;
- Strong interpersonal skills and capable of being able to influence others and negotiate change;
- Deadline focused and enthusiastic with an understanding of the requirements of operating in a Private Equity backed environment. Previous experience of working with Private Equity clients either in a similar role or professional services is desirable;
- Currently be operating in a senior finance role, either corporate or professional services;
- Experience of leading a team;
- Experience of working in an apprenticeship or training environment would be a bonus.
Benefits & Package:
- £85,000 - £110,000 base salary
