As part of the
Iona Community Administration Team you will be working Home-based, but with regular work in the office in Glasgow and occasional UK travel - including to the islands.

This new role offers the suitable person the opportunity to work and gain experience in the wide-ranging work of the Iona Community.

You will be expected to, when fully trained, provide cover for other members of the Team. You will provide an excellent level of service to the Iona Community's membership and the general public.


The Team supports the Mainland operations of the Iona Community, including Finance, Membership, Recruitment and HR, Events, General Administration, Island Centres Accommodation Bookings and administration for Wild Goose Publications.

Whilst having the flexibility of working from home predominantly, you will be opt into the company's Nest pension scheme. You will be part of a small however, experienced team, who will be fully supportive in your professional development. During your first year with The Iona Community you will be working towards your SCQF 6 Apprenticeship in Digital Applications support - working alongside our industry leading training provider QA


Key Responsibilities:


  • Use of all Office/Microsoft packages to deal with general administration duties
  • Effective use of excel spreadsheets to update and store customer details
  • Use of spreadsheets to store data and create ideas for suitable venues for small to large events for the community
  • Updating our membership database system (CIVI)
  • Help with incoming booking enquiries
