Description
We are looking for Learning and Information Officers to provide high quality, customer focused Library and Heritage Services. We have full-time (35 hours) and part-time (17.5 hours) posts.

You will need to be a friendly and confident person who will be happy to
talk to our users, working as part of a team to deliver an excellent library
service to Islington residents along with a strong interest in promoting
and serving the whole community, including children.

The post involves day-to-day duties concerned with customer care;
working with children, young people and adults; answering user
enquiries; using IT and assisting users in the use of IT.

The post requires weekend and shift working.

To carry out day to day duties connected with customer care


Public service routines including shelving, shelf tidying, using ICT to issue and discharge borrowed items, register new users, telephone answering, and using a till for calculating charges and giving change.

To use and assist others in the use of information technology systems to carry out duties in the most efficient and effective manner

Deal with enquiries by providing accurate information and by referring on to other sources or colleagues as appropriate.

Adhering to good standards of customer care at all times.

To promote social inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.


To assist in reader development and promotional activities including story reading and rhyme time activities with children of all ages.
