T **he difference you will make as a Finance Assistant
**The Role holder will carry out financial and administrative duties to support the Customer Services, General Ledger Team including account reconciliation, preparation and inputting of journals and setting up and monitoring of purchasing and credit cards for the Group.
You will also provide support to the Group Finance teams including quality checking standard financial transactions.

Role Profile

Accountabilities or "What You Have to Do"

  • Carry out required financial activity, including complex, none standard and standard account reconciliation, preparation and input of complex, none standard and standard journals, reconciliation of complex, none standard and standard balance sheets and fixed asset registers.
  • Setting up and monitoring of purchasing and credit cards and banking of cheques, following finance procedures, ensuring financial controls are adhered to and the integrity of the general ledger is maintaining in line with accounting deadlines. Provide clear, supportive and accurate advice to customers and colleagues on financial policies and procedures, escalating as appropriate to ensure effective resolution.
  • Provide support to Group Finance, acting as the Processing experts including quality checking standard financial transactions.
  • Maintain financial system records including inputting and updating records to ensure the retention of accurate data and contributing to the compilation of year end external audit files.
  • Develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders as appropriate, to resolve issues and queries, escalating for line management intervention as required.
  • Ensure adherence to financial controls and internal business processes to effectively support Customer Services.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
  • Respond flexibly to any necessary changes in work priorities and undertake other duties when required to support the effective operation of the service.
  • Ensure that all data protection requirements are met in accordance with the Group's policy, procedures and statutory requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
**Essential

  • Advanced user of Excel.
  • Sound Working knowledge of financial controls.
