THE COMPANY:

One of the UK's leading independent (re)insurance broker firms is looking for a skilled Data Engineer to have ownership of the cloud migration project they will be piloting in the New Year.

The company has an established history within the Financial Servicesmarket and looking to orchestrate a migration project from SQL server to Azure cloud.

THE ROLE:

As the Data Engineer, you will have ownership of the SQL server platform for a top insurance brokerage as they undergo a data transformation.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing ETL pipelines, dimensional modelling, and eventually, addingthe Power BI reporting layer. The role could quickly progress to a Senior or Lead Engineer within a growing Financial Services company.

You will:

Gather data requirements from senior stakeholders
Aggregate raw data from multiple sources
Design, implement, and manage the ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory and SQL
Use SQL to query data hosted in the Azure platform
Create data models reflective of commercial metrics for analytical use
Design, test, and build new ETL pipelines to support new data sources being integrated into Azure
Eventually, integrate a reporting layer, to be hosted in Power BI.

REQUIREMENTS:

SQL (SQL server, ideal)
SSAS
Azure stack (ADF / Databricks, desirable)
Power BI (desirable)
ETL design experience
Data modelling experience
Strong communication skills
A background in financial services or fintech (ideal but not essential)
