Job Description:

Are you a qualified company secretary or lawyer with deep corporate governance experience and extraordinary people skills? We're looking for a colleague with a growth mindset to join Group Secretariat, working to deliver the Group's strategy and purpose through smooth, pragmatic and tech-enabled governance.

This role reports to the Corporate Governance Director and leads a team delivering amazing board and committee governance and meetings for Lloyds Banking Group.

The role will be based in 25 Gresham Street, London and will require some travel to other locations for board meetings, offsites and the AGM.

What we need from you...

You're a highly motivated and inspiring leader who'll play a key role in delivering a first-class governance and secretarial service to the boards and board committees, ensuring that they meet corporate governance, legal and regulatory requirements.

You'll show deep technical and operational board governance experience, probably from a FTSE 100 listed company and in the financial services industry.

This experience is critical for the role.

You'll have excellent people skills and be a confident and credible communicator and technical writer, able to influence and give proactive technical advice to board members and senior executives.

You'll demonstrate:
- excellence in core corporate governance knowledge and skills across the suite of secretariat activities
- deep knowledge of legal/regulatory requirements and guidance applicable to corporate governance in financial services including Companies Act, Code, Wates, regulatory rulebooks and FRC and CGI guidance and the ring-fencing regime
- an understanding of the potential for technology to deliver improvements across the sphere of Group Secretariat activities - and a strong desire to deliver it
- evidence of handling high-profile priorities simultaneously and an ability to think in an agile way, and quickly 'join the dots' between discrete pieces of information.
- partnership building and collaborating across the team and the wider Group.
- ability to find the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
- proactivity in personal development through asking for and responding to constructive feedback in a positive, professional way

What you'll be doing.

You'll be responsible for end to end corporate governance, operational delivery and risk management relating to board and Exco meetings, agendas and papers.

As a leader within Group Secretariat, you'll also be a role model for the Secretariat, working on cross-team governance projects and developing the broader team.

There'll be extensive interaction with board directors and executives as a secretary to a standing board committee, ad hoc board committees as required and also support in board meetings

What will you get in return?

We cultivate a culture which brings together resourceful people from a diverse set of backgrounds who enjoy a collaborative and creative environment as well as genuine equal opportunity.

We'd also consider agile working practices.

You'd also get a benefits package that includes:
A performance related bonus and a generous pension contribution

28 days leave plus bank holidays

A flexible cash pot (4% of base salary) to spend on benefits

Private health cover

Wider corporate benefits and rewards
