About the team:


This post is for a Research Associate (0.5FTE) who will be based in the Department of Social Care and Social Work at Manchester Metropolitan University and will be a member of the Learning Disability and Autism Research Cluster.

The Research Associate will take a key role in the delivery of the research project:
_'Digital Health Participation of People with Intellectual Disabilities' (NIHR153571)_.

The project is being led by Dr Darren Chadwick at Liverpool John Moores University.

You will work collaboratively with researchers in other study sites (University of Kent and the University of Dundee) to ensure successful delivery of the project objectives.


The role will involve working closely with the wider cross-institution research team as well as a co-researcher with learning disabilities from Manchester People First.


About the role:


The main purpose of the role will be to work as a member of the team to support the delivery of the research project.

The Research Associate will be expected to undertake collaborative research work involving the collection of research data through a variety of research methods, including focus groups, quantitative surveys, interviews, digital diaries and co-creation workshops.

It will also involve contributing to the development of reports and other outputs.


We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, and proactive researcher who ideally has experience of carrying out research with people with learning disabilities.

You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate ownership of your personal workload.


There may be opportunities for flexible and hybrid working, but applicants must be available to travel and work in-person within the Greater Manchester area.
