Location - Bubbenhall, Coventry

Overview:


First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our client to recruit a Plant Operator to join their small, dedicated team in Bubbenhall, Coventry.

The Plant Operator will predominantly operate a landfill compactor and 963 tracked loading shovel, along with an agricultural tractor and attachments.

They will help to ensure that all Company H&S requirements are met fully, and ensure a courteous, safe, troublefree experience for customers and site users.

The Plant Operative will also occasionally cover the site weighbridge operations, ensuring all vehicles are weighed correctly and Duty of Care is complied with.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Operate mobile plant in handling waste materials in a safe and efficient manner as per Company procedures.
  • Ensure that plant and machinery is serviceable at all times by carrying out specified daily checks, as well as lubricating, refuelling, and cleaning the machinery as directed in the operating manual and Company procedures, and logged accordingly.
  • Keep all stores tidy and monitor fuel, oil, antifreeze, and consumable stocks.
  • Assist in other site duties such as litter picking, grass cutting, diesel checks etc.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the machinery.
  • Report any faults or defects for repair in order to protect the working life of the plant and machinery.
  • Completion of all training as defined within the Training Matrix.
  • May be required to provide cover at other Company sites within the region.

Skills and Experience:


  • Demonstrable skills in achieving demanding work requirements and ensuring customer needs are met.
  • Good time keeping and attendance record.
  • Good personal hygiene levels.
  • Considerate and approachable manner.
  • The ability to work on own initiative and to work with others as a part of a team.
  • Reliable, Efficient, Trustworthy, Punctual, Can-Do attitude, Full Driving Licence.
