Lead Engineer (PHP)
Hybrid - 2 days a month in the office| £65,000 a year


Yolk Recruitment is currently working on an exciting opportunity for a Lead Engineer to join a rapidly growing tech company in Somerset.

As a Technical Lead, you'll be responsible for developing high-quality code and leading a team of skilled developers.
The role is a 50/50 split between leadership and hands on technical.


This is what you'll be doing:

  • Writing high-quality code across all layers of the company's SaaS products
  • Mentoring and coaching team members in clean code, refactoring, and TDD practices
  • Collaborating with the CTO and Product Manager to document highlevel designs for new products and features
  • Working closely with the CTO and DevOps Engineer to define strategy and promote technical excellence

The experience you'll bring to the team:

  • Over 5+ years of experience of Laravel or Symfony
  • Excellent knowledge of software architecture and design patterns
  • Proficient at writing clean code and refactoring mercilessly
  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks, perfect React
