Key Responsibilities

Marketing and Content:

  • Support the Marketing and Communications team in the creation and implementation of major marketing and fundraising campaigns (in both the UK and key international markets)
  • Support on the delivery of highperforming, audiencefocused campaigns for Liverpool Biennial 2023 and yearround programme of projects, exhibitions, and events where appropriate
  • Work closely with the Digital Content and Marketing Officer to drive engagement across digital platforms, supporting on content creation and distribution for all Liverpool Biennial owned social media channels
  • Write, source, and edit effective marketing copy for various platforms and audiences and contribute to the research and production of highly engaging written and visual content for the website, social media, blog, newsletter and other online projects
  • Manage the migration of content to the new Liverpool Biennial website, uploading all content on behalf of different Biennial departments ahead of the launch of the new website in May 202
  • Support on devising campaign angles and strategies, overseen by the Marketing and Communications Manager
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with Liverpool Biennial's internal and external contacts, including partners and suppliers
  • Liaise with partners and other contacts on the delivery of joint marketing campaigns

Research and analysis:

  • Support the Digital Content and Marketing Officer on reviewing campaign outputs and collating and circulating updates
  • Support the effective rollout of audience research and evaluation projects, including survey setup and distribution

Other duties:

  • Manage day to day relationships with Biennial departments to ensure effective internal communications and optimal collaborative working and content sharing
  • Provide daytoday administrative support to the marketing team, including but not limited to the sourcing and distribution of images, filing of credit card receipts, maintaining press databases, monitoring press coverage, and monitoring shared inboxes
  • Provide copyediting and proofreading support to other Biennial departments where needed
  • Occasional support on the planning and implementation of events in key cities (Liverpool, London, etc.)
  • Work occasional evenings and weekends as necessary, taking this as Time Off in Lieu (to be agreed in advance with the Marketing and Communications Manager)
  • Any other duties which may be from time to time allocated, commensurate with the nature and responsibility level of the post

Person Specification
Essential

  • Two years' content writing experience, this can be in the form of your own blog/newsletter or writing you have done outside of your current employment.
  • A cultural enthusiast, with a passion for the work of arts organisations such as Liverpool Biennial
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of working with a variety of people with different lived experiences to yourself
  • Ability to effectively prioritise a demanding workload, working well to multiple tight schedules and deadlines
  • Selfmotivated and proactive approach
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
  • Commitment to environmental sustainability
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and persuasive manner
  • Knowledge of content management systems and associated software packages (e.g., WordPress, Mailchimp)
Desirable

  • Experience of working for a major arts festival or cultural organisation in a content writing capacity
  • Relevant degree or qualification in writing or marketing and communications
  • Understanding of Liverpool City Region's arts and culture environment

Terms and Conditions

Location:

Full-time office working at Liverpool Biennial office, 55 New Bird Street, Liverpool, L1 0BW, with opportunity for occasional home working, depending on prior agreement of line manager.


Salary:
£19,357 - £19,840 depending on experience

Hours:
Full-time 37.5 hours per week

Holidays: 22.5 days from 1 February - 30 September, inclusive of public holidays.
