The opportunity
EY's Entity Compliance and Governance (ECG) offering, part of EY Law, is unique in the market place.

We combine market leading technology and innovation, with the right people to deliver the company secretarial services of tomorrow, today.

Our team in Belfast is growing and we're looking for Senior Consultants to join our Managed Services workstream, to support clients with achieving their governance, compliance and business objectives on an ongoing basis.

Expansion of the team in Belfast is at the centre of EY's strategic growth plans and follows EY's earlier announcement this year of the creation of 1,000 new jobs across Northern Ireland.

Your role will involve delivering technical governance and compliance projects. You will have strong technical skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of audiences.

You will be passionate about changing the future of the company secretarial role by bringing innovative solutions to our clients' problems and creating efficiency by harnessing the power of technology.

Your key responsibilities
While we choose to deliver it differently to our clients, essentially your role will involve the following responsibilities:

  • Supporting the delivery of compliance and governance projects, including:
  • Transactions & IPOs
  • Annual report project management & drafting of governance sections
  • Governance framework reviews, including delegated authorities
  • Corporate health checks
  • Secretariat operational effectiveness reviews
  • Director training and induction, advice on regulatory changes
  • Managing the delivery of annual and ad hoc compliance requirements for clients
  • Research into and provision of guidance on changing legislative and regulatory matters
  • Board meeting support, including minuting of meetings, preparation of board packs, and actions
  • Development of consultant level team members
  • External business development and internal networking to create opportunities
  • Monitoring changes in the legislative and regulatory environment and identifying new opportunities in the UK market

To qualify for the role you must

  • Be qualified or part qualified with the Chartered Governance Institute ("CGI").

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Experience working in either a professional services firm or inhouse company secretarial team.
  • Experience working within a listed company environment and/or PRA or FCA regulated firm.
