SMP is a company which is growing at pace; the products are varied and the work challenging.

Due to this continued growth an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Compressor Sales Assistant based in Preston, joining this rapidly evolving and vibrant company.

The Sales Assistant will liaise with members of the Sales Team to create quotations, input data into our CRM platform, contact and visit clients, and other sales activities.

Qualifications:

Degree qualified
Full, Clean UK Diving Licence

Experience:

Sales Assistant

Duties:

Targeting specific markets, responding to phone and website requests
Focusing on the compressed gas and gas storage markets
Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers
Visiting potential customers to prospect for new business
Representing SMP Ltd at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations
Reviewing own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets
Making accurate, rapid cost calculations and providing customers with quotations
Promote service and spares for backup for SMP products
Assisting the Sales Manager for any other duties as necessary
Assisting the Senior Management Team for any other duties as necessary
Member of the sales team
Inputting data to CRM platform
Speaking with customers
Creating and sending quotations
Liaising with sales team to help with sales activities
Liaising with stores team to organise sending of goods

Requirements:

Experience in a sales position
Preferably experience in compressed gas systems and gas generation systems
An engineering or pneumatic qualification would be advantageous but not essential
Demonstrate the ability to gather and submit detailed business information for pricing and presentation of solutions to identified clients' business problems
An organised approach to work and high level of attention to detail
Good time management skills with ability to meet deadlines
General computer skills including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to work as part of a Sales Team
Good communication skills
Experience in a fastpaced industry
Excellent communication skills; high level of verbal and written English.
