Role Profile:


We are looking for a full-time Head of Quality to join our fast-paced Operations team, assisting the CEO and Head of Operations with all quality aspects of running our fast-growth manufacturing operation.


They will manage the in-house Quality team to ensure compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements, this will include coordination of the completion of internal audits to drive a continuous improvement with a robust safety culture at both of our Manufacturing facilities in Birmingham.

This will involve reviewing and management of our compliance with existing standards for ISO 22000, GMP, and HACCP. We also have GFSI certification FSSC 22000.

They will be flexible in your approach to work.

From time to time, they may be required to travel, and also start and finish at different times to meet the needs of the business.

They must have strong planning and organisation skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail.


Key Priorities:


Regulatory Compliance:


Understand and ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., FDA, FSA), implement and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for food and pharmaceuticals.

Oversee adherence to labelling requirements for products.


Product Quality Assurance:

Develop and implement quality control procedures for raw materials, manufacturing processes, and finished products. Establish and monitor quality metrics to ensure consistent product quality. Conduct regular audits of manufacturing processes and facilities to identify and rectify potential issues.


Risk Management:

Identify and assess risks associated with product quality and safety. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize quality-related incidents. Ensure proper handling of product recalls and corrective actions when necessary.


Continuous Improvement:

Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the quality department and across the organization. Implement quality improvement initiatives based on data analysis and feedback from stakeholders. Stay informed about advancements in quality management practices and technology.


Supplier Management:

Evaluate and qualify suppliers of raw materials and packaging components. Establish supplier quality agreements and conduct regular assessments to ensure compliance. Address any quality issues with suppliers promptly and effectively.


Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with other departments such as R&D, New Product Development and Operations to ensure alignment on quality objectives. Provide training and support to employees across the organization to promote a culture of quality and compliance. Communicate effectively with senior management to provide updates on quality-related matters and seek support for initiatives.
