You'll analyse asset reliability parameters and prioritise intervention, utilising Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to identify areas of improvement (e.g.

preventative maintenance tasks, procedures, asset standards).

Working with technical specialists and others you'll develop preventative maintenance tasks, utilising Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), ensuring governance of change is completed.


You'll be involved in the Maintenance Excellence Improvement Programme (MEIP), leading on improvements areas identified for preventative maintenance, and supporting other areas of the programme.


Job Accountabilities:


You'll be responsible for the achievement of continuous improvement of maintenance processes and standards, by analysis of failures utilising the RCFA process and developing a standard preventative (PM) and predictive (PdM) task library (Maintenance Work bank) to include information on resources, dependencies, measuring points, services parts, and critical spares.


You'll also be responsible for:

  • Working under the direction of the Maintenance Optimisation Manager to assist with preventative maintenance strategy deployment.
  • Identifying triggers for preventative maintenance reviews (RCFA outputs, Maintenance KPI's, Business Driver, New Technology) and performing the maintenance review using the defined business process and maintenance analytical techniques (Failure Mode Effects Analysis).
  • Performing asset criticality analysis utilising the agreed business process for asset criticality.
  • Ensuring robust governance of change is performed on all changes to the preventative maintenance strategy (Maintenance Work bank), utilising the agreed business process.

  • Working with the Maintenance Configuration Team and Work Management team to make or simulate changes to the maintenance task deployment system.
  • Providing support to other areas of the business to assist in continuous improvement of the preventative maintenance strategy
  • Deputising for the Maintenance Optimisation Manager.

Knowledge and Skills:

To be considered for this role you'll need to have proven relevant practical experience in a technical environment (Mechanical biased) together with a professional qualification (preferably an HNC) in a mechanical discipline and a high level of applicable technical knowledge (Mechanical biased)


You'll also have:

  • Working Knowledge of Statutory legislation and Regulatory obligations to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Familiarity with Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Familiarity with Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques and processes.
  • Analytical skills to enable prioritisation and identification of improvement areas.
  • Ability to lead on specific improvement work packages, and deliver within defined timescales to a high quality.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at various levels within the business.
  • A working knowledge of the maintenance modules within SAP.
