Description
You'll provides an emergency service for operational teams across the North West region as and when required. You'll play a key role in ensuring customer and regulatory targets around CMEX and customer minutes lost are achieved. You' this by providing alternative solutions to mitigate interruptions to customer supplies.

Including driving and operating the alternative supplies vehicles, overland support vehicles, delivery of pumps, generators, pontoons, lifting equipment and bottled water.


Job Accountabilities:


You'll be responsible for the delivery, installation and operation of emergency plant including HGVs, pumps, mobile generators, pontoons, mobile lifting equipment as well as the maintenance of emergency plant stores and equipment.


You'll also be responsible for:

  • Disinfection of alternative supply equipment (tanks & pipe work)
  • Compliance with good practice H&S processes associated with equipment and processes required of the job.
  • Responsive to planned and reactive requests
  • Maintenance of the customer information vehicle and mobile incident response vehicles
  • Maintaining and delivery of strategic bottled water stocks
  • Providing alternative supplies to key customers
  • Managing agency drivers on site to ensure that they are familiar with vehicles, that they follow H&S procedures, that they know and understand their responsibilities.
  • Manage agency drivers out of hours to ensure that the business gets the best use out of them
  • Manage people from other parts of the business to operate/fill ASV's to meet the requirements of the business and to do this in a safe manner
  • Liaise with customers on site of injection/fill points to inform them about the event.
  • Train people from other parts of the business in how to operate an ASV
  • Create alternative supply contingency plans for Tier 1 sensitive customers.

Knowledge and Skills:

To be considered for this role you'll need to have a Class 1 HGV licence and current CPC with a good understanding of use and maintenance of plant and equipment and a high regard for H&S policy and procedures


You'll also need:

  • Good interpersonal skills including in difficult and awkward situations
  • Ability to accurately exchange complex information to customers, colleagues and senior managers.
  • Desirable Criteria
  • Ability to undertake academic and practical CPD associated with Class 1 HGV
  • Flexible approach to the working day
  • Good understanding of the water network.
