Job Purpose:


Lead, shape and coordinate the delivery of the financial agenda of the MedTech Strategic Solutions Business in EMEA; acting as a valued business partner to the Strategy and Marketing VP and their leadership team.


Strategic Solutions is a regional team bringing together a number of Commercial Centers of Excellence such as: Global Business Insights & Pricing, Commercial Excellence, Omni Channel Marketing, Health Economics and Market Access and Digital Solutions.

The groups key priority & vision is to lead the way to transform our business to MedTech by:


  • Integrating different enabling capabilities, streamline, and simplify ways of working across franchises and countries
  • Improve connections between franchise strategy and growth opportunity through insights, evidence, and clear performance measures
  • Implementing and scaling digital solutions to generate incremental value in across the region for hospitals and patients

Dimensions:


  • Finance representative on the Strategy & Marketing Leadership Team & key member of the MedTech EMEA Regional Finance team
  • Three Direct Reports
  • MedTech Sales 2023 ~ $5.3B
  • Regional Strat Sols commercial group +100 FTE

Main Responsibilities:


Business Leadership

  • Providing high quality business partnering support to the Strategy & Marketing VP and their leadership team.
  • Finance leadership to the cross franchise Digital Solutions team ensuring finance governance and frameworks are developed, as well being a key decision maker on the development of our current and future digital solutions

Examples include:

Assessing viability of initial digital solutions, driving financial GTM models as well as tracking impact of our EMEA solutions.


  • Actively collaborate with GBI to drive improvements in key areas of procedural modelling, external market insights & business benchmarking & analysis
  • Finance support to other key areas within Strategic Solutions including Intelligence Automation, Tender Excellence, Omni Channel Marketing & Revenue Assurance
  • Develop, interpret, communicate, and review key Strategic Solutions financial performance metrics to track performance. Actively collaborate with countries to agree on any resulting actions and ensure successful execution and followup.
  • Support the deployment of Strategic Solutions initiatives within MedTech EMEA in close cooperation with AVP's, cluster FD and country leads.
  • Collaborate with all Finance Tiers and Business IT to identify & develop tools to support strategies which are aligned with J&J procedures and local/tax regulations in an automated, controlled way with limited manual intervention.
  • Be curious, monitor, analyse and interpret the external / macroeconomic environment, framing the possible financial implications and partner with the business to develop process improvements based on external insights.
  • Other adhoc tasks and initiatives as required.

Financial Leadership:


  • Support the Strategic Solutions functional budget prioritisation along with Strategy & Marketing VP, BUIT VP and HR
  • Coordinates Strategic Solutions regional finance tasks with Leadership Team for closings and latest thinking exercises, providing qualitative insights while driving efficiency gains
  • Main financial point of contact for Intelligent Automation Program in MedTech EMEA
  • Meet all compliance requirements: SOX, Revenue Recognition, Records Retention, HCC/HCBI/IAPP etc

Qualifications:


  • University Degree & a recognised Professional Accountancy qualification if applicable (Country Dependant)
  • Ability to bring clarity to complex business issues and proven success in managing projects and processes to a successful conclusion
  • A track record of shaping, motivating change & continuous improvement should be evident
  • Ability to influence people without a direct reporting relationship in a complex, virtual environment.
  • Excellent communication and framing skills
  • Proven track record to partner with and influence internal customers
  • Comfortable in challenging internal customers in a nonconfrontational way
  • Ability to work with people at all management levels
  • Ability to analyse & present the financial data ensuring that it makes business sense
  • Strong team player, people manager and ethical (Credo minded)
  • Demonstrate work life balance; solicit feedback on organizational health and implement improvements; remove barriers to success
  • Anticipate and manage competing and changing priorities; recommend tradeoffs for business impact
  • Highly computer literate, experience with ERP systems and Microsoft packages.

Preferred:


  • Experience at a similar level, or within a multinational environment. J&J knowledge will be a significant advantage
  • Experience of Medical Digital Solutions, Value Based Agreement type setups would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of MedTech would be an advantage
