An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a small Newborn Hearing Screening team working at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) based at Colchester hospital.

This is a part-time position (15 hours per week), with no specific days.


You will work as an integral member of the newborn hearing screening team, primarily in the delivery of the newborn screening programme.

You will work under the supervision of the local manager and be part of a dedicated team of screeners ensuring that quality and family friendly service is delivered for families in both Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals.

The post will involve direct handling of newborn babies and contact with parents. It will involve gathering and accurately recording clinical and test data relevant to the newborn screening process. The Newborn Hearing Team screen over three and a half thousand babies each year.

On completion of your training you will be expected to complete your NBHS Level 3 Diploma.
