Hartlepool Borough Council is investing significantly in its Leisure, Recreation and Participation operations, with a new "state of the art", multimillion pound leisure centre "Highlight" planned to open in 2025.

Other significant facility improvements are also planned.


We are therefore offering an exciting career opportunities for highly motivated individuals to complement our existing team of leisure professionals.


We need Duty Officers who will...

  • Have experience in a supervisory role at a busy leisure centre
  • Be able to successfully lead and motivate diverse teams
  • Be focused on high customer service standards
  • Have excellent verbal, written and IT communication skills
  • Create an environment where colleagues can achieve their full potential
  • Have a proven track record in cost control and driving participation, usage and Income in all areas
  • Demonstrate exceptional time management and deadline compliance
  • Be able to respond positively to difficult situations.
  • Have a flexible approach to work.
  • Hold or be actively working towards an NVQ 3 supervisory management qualification or an equivalent qualification
  • Hold a pool plant qualification with preferably operational experience.
