North West Recycling, Cumbria's leading waste management supplier are actively recruiting for a Mobile Plant Operator to join our expanding team.

We employ over 100 staff, operate over 25 vehicles, and deploy over 2500 skips and containers from our 30-acre purpose-built waste management, skip hire and recycling facility near Carlisle, in Cumbria.

Our aim is to fully close the circular journey of the waste produced, through our ability to manage the entire process - skip hire and business waste collection through to recycling and full material recovery.

The Role

The role is working within the existing process shift team, involving the operation and usage of various plant machinery on site.

Operating several types of mobile plant vehicles including Excavator with grab, Loading shovels and Telehandlers for the safe and efficient running of the Waste Recycling Plant.

The site operates several processing lines which require waste loading and supervision of the process.

Responsibilities and duties to include:
-

Daily machine checks;
Ensure bays are kept clear for sorting skip waste;
Maximise productivity to ensure stock levels are managed to a compliant standard;
When requested to load wagons, do so in a safe manner and ensure area is made safe and tidy afterwards;
Ensure bunker entrances and doorways are cleaned/swept after removing/loading product to stop contamination of other bunkers or blown litter/dust round site;
Compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

The Package
The role works on an alternate weekly shift pattern Monday to Friday with overtime as required. Early shift to 14.30 and late shift to 22.45 alternate weeks.

20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays. An additional days holiday for every year of service up to an extra 10 days.
