Hours - 24hrs per week (occasional weekends if needed)


Pay:

- £11.55 per hour


Location Bidston Rd, Prenton, Merseyside, CH43 6UW

Experience in working in care homes preferred, health and safety knowledge, basic experience in plumbing, electrics, heating. Required to be available for on call


Job Overview


To keep the homes facilities in optimum operating condition by performing reactive and planned preventative maintenance in line with Nursing Home policies and procedures.

This will include ( the buildings, beautiful grounds, drainage, fixtures & fittings, equipment, décor, utility systems etc)


Responsibilities and Duties of the Job

  • Maintain the overall appearance of the nursing home, bedroom fixtures & fittings.
  • Carry out general repairs.
  • Maintain high standards to decor & paintwork throughout the home.
  • Perform preventative maintenance throughout all areas of the home.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety regulations and legal responsibilities including COSHH, Fire Regulations, Environmental Health and RIDDOR.
  • To be the Fire Marshal for the home and to assist in Fire Risk Assessments yearly.
  • Ensure residents' satisfaction (and their visitors) by performing duties such as attending to requests and inquiries courteously and promptly.
  • Maintain favourable and productive working relationships, including good communication, with all team members and other departments.
  • Liaise directly with outsourced contractors, ensuring they provide a high quality, valueformoney service.
  • Ensure that all Health and Safety audits and checks are completed in accordance with procedures prescribed by the Home or by Regulatory Bodies (such as Fire testing and Emergency Lighting etc).
  • Develop and implement strategies to proactively address maintenance issues.
  • Complete the daily job list and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure that the physical plant, boilers etc are operating in a safe, efficient, and orderly fashion by directing all phases of maintenance, repair and renovation.
  • Prioritise maintenance tasks to ensure the Home's service levels are not adversely affected.
  • Address maintenance tasks promptly, setting and meeting appropriate time deadlines.

Personal Responsibilities
Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by the management
