About the role:
It's an exciting time to join the Finance team here at AXA, with significant investment planned in all UK&I businesses to transform, deliver new digital services to our customers and streamline and automate our business processes.
To help us make a real difference to our business performance during a period of significant market change, we're looking for a talented individual to join the team.
Working alongside the Retail Intermediated leadership team, you'll deliver commercial and financial insight to the business to both set and achieve their financial and key performance targets.

You'll work at least 20% of your week away from home, either at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.
We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, such as part-time or condensed hours, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.
What you'll be doing:
- Use networks in Finance to obtain a full understanding of the business results, including analysis of variance to plan, prior year and forecast.
- Focus on forward looking insight and impacts, constantly working with business colleagues to manage & understand performance gaps.
- Develop and influence new initiatives that address performance gaps, ensuring the right decisions are taken from a financial point of view.
- Track and monitor the execution of business plans and initiatives and make sure that are delivering on all commitments.
- Work very closely with the Intermediated business leadership to identify KPIs and lead indicators of performance and persons responsible.
- Drive relevant financial information into the trading cycle that provides transparency and helps determine brilliant management responses.
- Play a leadership role in building a healthy pipeline of new business deals, writing profitable business cases and setting appropriate commercial contract structures.
- Be passionate about improving business financial performance.
- Develop new commercial thinking and influence organisational design in the business to drive out efficiencies.
About you:
- ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualification.
- Excellent understanding of the financial dynamics of the general insurance business, preferably gained working in Retail or Personal Lines.
- Proven experience of motivating and managing a team, preferably in a matrix organization.
- Experience of working within a business finance environment and the insurance industry.
- Successful record of delivering and leading teams through change.
- First class analytical skills.
- Specialist understanding of accounting and control for insurance.
- Awareness of accountancy practices.
- Financial systems experience and knowledge.
- Commercial acumen.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
