Job summary:


As the UK's regulator for the energy industry, Ofgem exists to ensure safe, secure and sustainable energy supply to British households and businesses.


As the Head of Digital Products, you'll work closely with the Digital Delivery Deputy Director and other Heads of teams to share responsibility for implementing Ofgem's strategic approach, and delivering the Delivery & Schemes business.

Managing a team of approximately 30-40 staff, you'll be accountable for providing clear leadership and direction to all aspects of product, process, business analysis and architecture across delivery and schemes.

You will also keep the aspects listed under review, to ensure it remains aligned to the strategy, providing ways of quality improvement and putting them in place, and developing a robust Product Management Framework.


We are looking for a leader with strong operational experience and extensive knowledge and experience in delivery management, product management, process design and business analysis.

You will ideally have a background in software product delivery, and be an expert using Agile methodology with a professional Project and Delivery Management Certification (ICP-APM) Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM).

You'll also be confident in managing and delivering budgets, utilising robust financial controls.


An excellent communicator, you will be comfortable challenging the status quo and working closely with / influencing a wide range of stakeholders.

As this is a high profile role, you will also need to have a collaborative approach, with a flexible and adaptable ethic to ensure the business delivers on its priorities.

Job description:


Working alongside the Digital Delivery Deputy Director and the other Heads of teams you will share responsibility for implementing our strategic approach and delivering the Delivery & Schemes business.

As the Head of Digital Products, you will manage a team of approximately staff with accountability for:

  • Supporting the Deputy Director (DD) for Digital Delivery in their role and contributing to the overall leadership, management and delivery of the team
  • Providing clear leadership and direction to the all aspects of Product, Process, Business Analysis and Architecture across Delivery & Schemes
  • Leading the Delivery Management, Product, Process, and Business Analysis teams to ensure all objectives are achieved
  • Keeping Delivery & Schemes Delivery Management, Product, Process, and Business Analysis activity under review so that it is aligned with its strategy
  • Improving both the efficiency and the effectiveness of the Delivery Management, Product, Process, and Business Analysis function
  • Providing the Delivery & Schemes Director, DDs and the wider corporate community in Ofgem with confidence in the effectiveness of Delivery & Schemes Product, Process, Business Analysis and Architecture activity
  • Maintain a Delivery Management Framework and approach
  • Putting in place and developing a robust Product Management Framework
  • Ensuring Delivery & Schemes adopts best practice in Process Design
  • Providing Business Analysis services to the organisation
  • Ensuring that sound methods and processes are used to elicit User Research where needed to support projects
  • Ensuring that Quality Improvement is achieved through the creation, maintenance and use of an appropriate set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Working with the Deputy Director and other Team Heads to ensure that an environment in established and developed where Continuous Improvement is
