Hours of Work:15-25 hours per week, during Wolverhampton school holidays only.


Salary:
£10.50 -£12 dependent on qualifications and experience


Overtime:
Taken as time off in lieu (TOIL)


Probation period:3 months


About Positive Participation
Positive Participation is an award-winning provider of mental health and wellbeing services for all age service users in Wolverhampton. We have been established since 2003. We offer conventional and culturally adapted mental health and wellbeing services for children, adults & older adults Dementia Services. We also deliver services for family and children's holiday activities.

Our objectives are to improve and prevent mental ill health, maintain wellbeing, provide social activities and a safe space for service users.

Our activities are available both face to face and over the phone, across the week including some evenings and weekends


Principle Tasks:

We are looking for positive upbeat staff to support and lead activities for HAF and #YES schemes. The position is for school holidays 3 to 5 days a week 9.30am-2.30pm Monday to Friday.

The post holder will need to be flexible as working times and dates could change dependent on Bank Holidays as well as the needs of the business.


Your role:


  • Engage & encourage young people aged between 516 years to take part in activities.
  • Lead activities such as Arts & Craft, Gardening, Sports, Dance and Cooking (this is not an exclusive list). Qualifications in these areas are advantageous but not essential.
  • You will be responsible for leaving activity areas clean and tidy. Ensuring all resources used are accounted for and put away.
  • Oversee and prepare Breakfast and Lunch club. Following procedures to manage food preferences and allergies.
  • Children must always be accounted for, to monitor this you will be required to maintain and update an activity register.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety Procedures.
  • Complete incident/accident reports.
  • Provide support to young people and families through signposting.

Requirements:


  • Health & Safety Level 2 qualification essential to role
  • Safeguarding Children Level 2 qualification essential to role
  • Applicant must hold the above qualifications or be willing to obtain them before their start date.
  • As the job will only be during the school terms applicants must register for the DBS update service as DBS checks will be done at the start of each school holiday.


The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

This position may suit parents of children aged 5-16 on Free School Meals (FSM) as they can attend the activities for free.
