About the Role:
As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will play a crucial role, ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of accounts payable transactions
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and processing invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconciling vendor statements and resolving discrepancies.
- Conducting thorough data entry and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Preparing payments and coordinating with suppliers.
- Assisting with monthend and yearend closing processes.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A strong background in accounting or finance.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
Duties:
- Process accounts payable invoices and ensure accuracy of data entry
- Review and reconcile vendor statements
- Prepare and process weekly check runs
- Assist with monthend closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any payment discrepancies or issues
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Human Resources and Corporate Accounting, to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments
- Assist with special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in accounts payable or related field preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices
- Familiarity with tax regulations related to accounts payable
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Types:

Contract length: 12 months
Salary:
£24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year

- Blackburn: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
