We are looking for an HR Business Partner to provide a first-class business focussed high performing HR service.


You will be an integral part of the business and team with scope which covers all facets of the human resources function from HR strategy to operational activities.

This role is one where regular travel to engage with client groups and key stakeholders is an important element of the business partnering approach to maintain and develop the people focused collaborative relationship with our teams.

Stakeholder management

  • Using an HR business partner approach to work closely with key senior stakeholders including the Divisional General Manager and Resource Manager and understand and proactively meet business challenges
  • Building strong and sustainable relationships using effective communication skills and professional advice, being visible and accessible and remaining delivery focussed
  • Acting as the critical friend to senior leaders and managers in relation to decisions and processes impacting their people.
Advisory and operational activities

  • Taking a proactive approach to identify employee related issues such as performance, conduct and absence providing timely and pragmatic interventions
  • Using a coaching / mentoring style to support business managers and more junior members of the HR team with operational activities and to develop them in their roles
  • Utilising experience in employee relations to ensure HR matters are handled promptly, fairly, and consistently in line with legal and company requirement
  • Providing consistent and accurate HR guidance, support and expertise to managers and employees in line with policy, practice and legislation
  • Designing and delivering people management webinars to inform and upskill others
  • Analysing data and reporting to highlight trends, issues and to support business decisions.
Strategic HR

  • Delivering the people strategy at divisional level including employee engagement, talent management and succession planning
  • Delivering our EDI efforts at a divisional level and sharing best practice at a unit, regional and global level
  • Aiding the Unit wellbeing strategy and supporting divisional activities and intervention
  • Supporting any business transformation activities within the Unit
Compliance

  • Complying with Data Protection and General Data Protections Regulations (GDPR) and ensure the security of employee information in accordance with legislation and best practice
  • Responding to Compliance matters in line with HR procedures and ensure that all operational aspects of compliance reporting are addressed.
Team

  • Reporting to the HR Manager and being part of a team and wider HR community to
support the delivery of the people strategy

  • Working across divisions where needed during peaks in workload
Other

As an HR Business Partner you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyse and interpret complex data and information and use excel and HR systems with confidence
  • A passion for learning with the enthusiasm to drive your personal development and that of others by becoming involved with wider e.g. unit, regional or global activities
  • MCIPD qualified or with equivalent qualifications/experience
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to quickly build strong and collaborative relationships across the Unit and wider HR community
  • Previous experience in a similar HR role is essential
  • An agile working approach including travel to any main offices as and when required.
Desirable

  • Commercial acumen and experience in an engineering or consultancy environment
  • Experience of delivering value add initiatives/projects e.g., EDI, STEM, engagement events, etc
  • Experience with PowerBi and/or SAP
  • Experience of nonUK HR activities and legislation.
