Some of the areas you can expect to assist clients in include:- Advise clients on UK financial crime regulatory requirements, expectations, and industry practices.
- General systems and controls development and review e.g. policy and procedure development, business or client risk assessment, training, etc
- Assessing the basis upon which systems or models have been calibrated and/or providing advice on statistical validity
- Defining business requirements and supporting vendor selection processes
- Performing systems effectiveness testing
- Documenting process flows, analysing data inputs / outputs and assessing data quality, completeness and integrity
- Leveraging/analysing client data to identify risks, issues and patterns to support control enhancement
- Performing independent reviews of firms' systems and controls
- Being your clients' point of contact on specific elements of our engagements.
- Participating in client meetings, such as interviews and presentations.
In addition, you will be able to participate in and, where relevant, help to present at Bovill events and training sessions, such as clientbriefings on topical regulatory issues and roundtable events aimed at compliance professionals to enable you to engage with and build Bovill's client base.
- At least 2 years demonstrable experience gained at a financial institution, legal practice, consultancy and/or the regulator
- Knowledge and experience of systems configuration, data analytics, model validation as well as foundational understanding of broader systems and controls
- Technical knowledge of UK AML/CTF regulations and guidance, and a working knowledge of other relevant antifinancial crime laws and regulations such as Sanctions, Terrorist Financing and Bribery and Corruption
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to construct wellfounded, clear and concise observations and recommendations
- Ability to write policies and other framework documentation
- Experience translating regulatory rules and guidance into meaningful and pragmatic solutions for clients
- A passion for solving interesting problems and have an interest in learning how to manage relationships with clients and the wider team.
When the opportunity arises, you may also be required to assist other teams and clients on a wider range of regulatory matters, so you be keen will develop your knowledge across the spectrum and be willing to collaborate on work outside of your main areasof expertise.
Given the technical nature of the work we do, exceptional written and oral communication skills, and high attention-to-detail are paramount.
