You would be part of a friendly, enthusiastic and truly multidisciplinary team comprising of:

  • 7 GP partners.
  • 4 Salaried GPs.
  • 5 Nurse Practitioners and 2 Emergency Care Practitioners.
  • Clinical Pharmacist.
  • An experienced Practice Nursing and HCA team.
  • Supportive Patient Services Reception Team of 10.
  • A dynamic and well integrated PCN team including Physician Associate, First Contact Practitioners, Health Coaches, Social Prescribers, Care Coordinators, Paramedic, Occupational Therapist, Nurse Associate and GP Assistant. Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technician.
  • Additional support from Lakeside Healthcare Central Team.

Job Introduction


Reporting to the Patient Services Manager, the Senior Patient Services Advisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the provision of a positive, professional and welcoming experience for those entering practice and being the first point of contact for patients, family members and professionals.


What you will do

  • Responsible for implementing a patient orientated approach to ensure each patient is efficiently and adequately signposted to the correct part of our or other services.
  • Supervising various administrative duties necessary to ensure the smooth running of the practice, ensuring all patients are booked in the appropriate clinics.
  • Overseeing the work of the Reception Team on a day to day basis ensuring the team are suitably trained and skilled in their roles.
  • Identifying training gaps within the team and putting in place action plans.
  • To conduct performance reviews and appraisals alongside the Patient Services Manager together with other HR processes e.g. managing sickness absences.
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the prescription process in the practice, while maintaining a good relationship with local community pharmacies.

Essential Criteria

  • GCSE Level (A-C) or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience in customer facing environment.
  • Administrative experience.
  • Telephony Experience.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Competent use of Microscoft Office.
  • Calm under pressure.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Natural problem solver.
  • Able to work at pace.
  • Ability to prioritise.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to be discrete and maintain absolute confidentiality.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Natural team player.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and willing to ask for help when needed.
