Headway Birmingham & Solihull are a leading ABI - Acquired Brain Injury Charity.

We are excited to be starting a new service in April 2023. This will be a Wellbeing Hub, where as part of their programme, brain injured people will be able to access Physiotherapy, SALT and a variety of Wellbeing sessions. This will be in small groups and on a 1 to 1 basis.

Our clients will have been through formal clinical rehabilitation, however, for many, whilst this can be the start to getting on the road to recovery, they often have some specific issues that need further support.

An acquired brain injury can be a journey travelled for the rest of their lives and they may find they have changing needs at different points of the journey.

We are seeking someone part time, but there is the opportunity for this to grow into a full time post if they so wish.

This postholder would need to be able to develop the services and manage the small team, so similar experience would be advantageous.

Job Summary:
-

Ø To ensure the daily wellbeing & Therapy programmes/rotas are adequately organised and run efficiently and contribute to future planning and development of the services and systems.

Ø To work as an integrated part of the multi-professional team (Physio, OT and SALT).

Ø To at all times take responsibility for safety and wellbeing of clients at the Wellbeing Hub.

Ø To provide an accomplished OT service as required as part of the overall ABI services

Ø To supervise and support the Therapists and Therapy Helpers

Ø To deliver/support wellbeing sessions were required.

Experience and requirements:
-

Ø To possess a qualification in either Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, accreditation British Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapists or CBT or Occupational Therapy Post Grad

Ø Willing to manage own continued learning and registration

Ø Previous experience of working with people with disabilities and knowledge of brain injury is desirable, but not essential.

We offer a friendly and supportive environment and many benefits to our staff.
