The UK's leading Digital Solutions Providers is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Data Engineer (Contractor) to help oversee the E2E delivery across a long term and large-scale Digital Transformation programme for a FS/Banking client.

The main aim of this project will be to combine three mainframe networks into one core Settlement Platform on AWS Cloud, using the Strangler Pattern approach to deliver the migration incrementally.

These networks are:

Discover network for domestic credit cards
Pulse network for domestic debit cards
Diner's Club for global customers

Essential Data Engineer Experience:

Strong/expert level handson coding experience in Spark
Experience coding in Java/Spring
Experience designing and building web environments on AWS, including working with services like S3, Amazon EMR and Kinesis Data Streams
Collaborative, able to work remotely, and still be an engaging team member
Strong analytical and design skills
Flexibility to work on CST hours as necessary

Highly Desirable:

Coding In Java/Spring and Scala
Data Pipeline Software, CI/CD And Devops
Cloud Architecture components in AWS
Ability to turn raw data and ambiguous business questions into distilled findings and recommendations for action
Terraform, kubernetes and docker in order to build, deliver, and scale containerized apps
React/Vue/Angularjs) Including API Design (REST/Graphql) And Library Development
DevOps tools in a cloud environment, such as ansible, artifactory, docker, github, jenkins, kubernetes, maven, and sonar qube
Experience leading and managing technical data/analytics/machine learning projects
