Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our healthcare team. As an HCA, you will play a critical role in supporting the physical and emotional well-being of our patients. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, to provide high-quality care to our patients.Key Responsibilities:
- Providing personal care and support to patients, including feeding, washing, dressing, and toileting.
- Assisting with mobility and transfers, including the use of hoists and wheelchairs.
- Monitoring patients' vital signs and reporting any changes to the nurse or doctor.
- Helping to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, including changing bed linen and disposing of waste.
- Supporting patients' emotional wellbeing by providing companionship and conversation.
- Assisting with basic medical procedures, such as taking blood pressure and administering medication.
- Documenting patient care and reporting any concerns to the nurse or doctor.
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to the development of care plans.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited HCA training program or relevant experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic nature.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Basic medical knowledge and familiarity with medical terminology.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Job Types:

Salary:
£11.00-£17.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Every weekend
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Overtime
- Weekend availability
- Weekends only
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Belfast: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
