As the Machine shop inspector, you will play a key role in checking components against relevant documented specifications whilst providing a balance between cost-effectiveness and quality control.

You will ensure that the equipment used is appropriate for the product, and it is stored correctly and in full working order before use.

As the machine shop inspector, you will ensure that products are processed in a timely and an accurate manner and all reports are generated accordingly.

You will work in collaboration with the inspection team encouraging positive open discussions on component deficiencies, safety and quality specifications making recommendations to improve inhouse processes, methods, and safety.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ensure all company policies surrounding material handling, health & safety, quality requirements and housekeeping are met.
  • Good working knowledge of the use of Inspection, Measuring, and Test Equipment.
  • Knowledge of API Spec 71, 72, DS 1 & NS1 Specifications along with API rotary connections and proprietary connections. Including Grant Prideco, and Tenaris
  • Carry out inspection, testing & measuring on inprocess and final machined products to verify acceptance to specifications and procedures.
  • Resolve qualityrelated issues in a timely manner and determine most effective (Cost, risk and benefit) methodology for inspection of parts and recommend changes to prescribed processes where required.
  • Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
  • Review nonconforming product and determine and take the most appropriate action utilizing all available data sources, experience, and knowledge
  • Interpret the results of all methods of inspection.
  • Conduct preoperation daily and other checks on equipment where required.
  • Examine machined product using mechanical, and/or automated inspection techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE:


  • Experience of rotary shoulder connections
  • Premium and API
  • CNC Lathe Operations
