Commissioning & Contracts Officer:


We are looking for experienced, capable, and solution focused SEND Commissioning & Contracts Officer to deliver high-quality commissioning outcomes for children, young people with SEND and their families.


The role will require you to commission, monitor and quality assure Special Education Needs placements for children and young people of Cheshire West and Chester Council, which includes young people aged from 0 to 25.


The post holder will:
- work collaboratively with strategic partners including parents/carers, schools and colleges, social workers and colleagues across children's services, adult services, education and health.

  • Take on a lead role in contract monitoring and quality assurance within the team and will lead on developing effective systems and processes to ensure that high quality placements are commissioned that offer value for money and improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • Develop a forecast model to ensure planned sufficiency meets current and future demand.
  • Ensure effective budget management is in place.
