We are advertising this Head of Estates role on behalf of our client, based in Cardiff.
Our client is seeking a service-focused estates professional with proven experience of managing estates & management responsibilities, who will be able to lead a team.
Job Purpose:
As the Head of Estates you will have an extensive background in estates operations including a strong knowledge of complex technical memorandums, business planning and strategic development.
This role entails leading the team as Head of Estates and being responsible for the compliance, operations, budgets, lease negotiations, rent reviews and implementation of all estates related trust policies across a multidisciplinary environment.
Role Requirements:
- Working with the senior leadership team you will be a strong influencer in the strategic development of a diverse range of estates services.
- To undertake client and tenant communication/consultation, property management and to undertake professional activities including rent review and lease renewal negotiations, acquisitions, disposals, the preparation of valuations and marketing of vacant property. Some of these activities may be of a complex and/or political nature.
- Be the lead on information governance for estates ensuring appropriate monitoring and governance structures are in place to meet required statutory and regulatory requirements
- Be proficient in the use of bespoke estate software management systems to generate reports to support safe and effective service delivery and respond to local, regional, and national reporting requirements.
- Support the Trusts HR strategy by managing a direct workforce and contracted service providers delivering professional leadership and management advice across all areas.
- To work in conjunction with the business and improvement plans of the Trust to coordinate and develop the department's annual business plan.
- Contribute to the effective delivery of the directorates risk management arrangements.
- Management of estate budgets, ensuring expenditure is constrained within expenditure limits.
- To be responsible for the effective implementation of allocated individual projects some of which can be complex and involve several stakeholders internally and externally.
Required Qualifications/ Experience:
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in Estates and Asset Management services, valuation, surveying/ RICS membership.
- Substantial Estates and Asset Management experience and operational experience in managing complex developments and site assemblies, disposals or Lease negotiations.
- Proven track record of leadership and effective management in a Estates and Asset Management environment as well as a high level of commercial awareness
- Extensive knowledge/ experience with lease negotiations/rent reviews
- Have extensive estates operational experience.

- You are an excellent communicator on all levels and can demonstrate experience working with contractors and managing technical staff.
- Can provide evidence of experience working in budget management.
