Reed Finance are pleased to be working with our client, a growing, owner managed business in the Southend area, who are recruiting a Senior Project Finance Manager.

This role will oversee a team of 3 whose responsibility is to produce accurate and timelyreporting for their specific business unit.


The Senior Project Finance Manager role will also be customer facing to provide commercial finance input into new and existing contract business.


A few key responsibilities:

  • Oversee your team's preparation of timely and accurate monthly Management Accounts for their contracts, providing assistance as and when required, particularly in time of absence or peak activity.
  • Retain responsibility for your own portfolio of contracts.
  • Liaise with the senior divisional management teams to ensure they have a good appreciation of their financial results, providing input where required to maximise understanding.
  • Using data generated to drive margin improvement with better working practices.
  • Assist the contract management team with pricing periodic contract renegotiations.
  • Oversee the preparation of annual budgets for the sector and gathering information for the CFO to reforecast periodically.
  • Be the goto commercial finance contact for the Divisional MD's and Division Operations Directors.

A few key requirements:

  • Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Project accounting experience
  • Experience of leading and supporting a high performing finance team
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with people at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel
