- Job description
- The iconic Thames Barrier, one of the world's largest moveable flood barriers, plays a pivotal role in protecting over £320 billion worth of property and 1.4 million people from tidal flooding in London.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do.
You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident.
This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
- The team
- The Thames Barrier's Asset Performance team holds overall responsibility for the management of this asset, alongside five of its associated gates, to ensure that it works when required and protects London from tidal flooding. To ensure this performance, the team leads on asset data and information management, asset management planning, risk assessment, business planning and the delivery of facilities management. The team consists of engineers, planners, technicians and analysts working together to achieve this.
- Experience/skills required Visual asset inspection, for example public safety risk assessment (PSRA).
- Asset management system monitoring and the development of performance metrics and indicators.
- Reliability engineering, for example root cause analysis.
- Asset management planning and coordination.
- Asset data & information storage.

- This is a 6month fixedterm assignment.
The role is based at the Thames Barrier.
Whilst opportunities to work from home will be available, you will also be expected to be present in the office regularly.
