About this Role:
An opportunity has arisen for a Construction Planner to work with this busy regional main contractor group based near Portsmouth, Hampshire - initially to support the preconstruction team to produce tender programmes and develop detailed construction delivery programmes and logistics plans in second stage preconstruction.
This role will develop to include circa 60-70% preconstruction and 30-40% visiting sites to undertake progress reviews, progress reporting and working with site delivery teams where required.
This role would suit a planner with 5+ years of experience in the role already, or a site manager / project manager with main contractor construction experience who is interested in pursuing a career in Planning.
You will be likely to have input to 2-3 schemes at a time, working between office and site visits as the role develops.
Knowledge and understanding of construction processes, technical aspects of design and practical buildability, with the ability to construct a programme of works is essential A working knowledge and understanding of the planning software Asta and MS Project is also important.
About the Company/Client/Project:
The role is with the Hampshire based regional main contractor with a turnover of circa £60m.
Projects are typically commercial offices, healthcare, change of use refurbishment, leisure, further education colleges, residential plus recladding schemes in the Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire, Surrey and Sussex areas.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
Ideally from an Engineering and Site Management background with a main contractor, you will possess good communication skills, planning and problem-solving ability, in depth technical knowledge with thorough attention to detail, and a positive, 'get it right first time' approach.
You will possess sound technical knowledge together ideally with the experience of working with main contractor construction team.
