We have a very exciting opportunity for a Ward Clerk to come and work within our dynamic team here on Ward F7, where we believe that an open, honest, approachable and transparent environment, together with amazing teamwork is the key to happy staff and good, safe patient care.


F7 is a fast paced, 34 bedded Short Stay acute Medical Ward, responsible for maximising patient flow within the hospital.

We receive patients from the Acute Assessment Unit and Emergency Department with a diverse range of medical conditions.


We strongly believe in encouraging all staff members to meet their full potential and support growth and development of our staff.

As a Ward Clerk on F7, you will be expected to;
Communicate well with patients, families and staff if a professional and sensitive manner

Effectively communicate with external departments within the Trust and external to the Trust

Have a courteous and polite manner when speaking on the telephone and welcome patients and visitors to the ward

Support the ward staff by collecting and delivering items within the Trust

Maintaining accurate data entry, and ensuring all medical notes are filed correctly

Maintain a tidy work space and accurate stock levels

Attend mandatory training

Maintain confidentiality at all times

The Ward Clerk will have responsibility for administrative duties within the Ward/Unit.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring an optimum level of efficient clerical support to the nursing and medical staff in a timely and accurate manner.

He/she will have contact with patients, carers and all members of the multi professional team, as such he/she will provide front of house services for the Ward/Unit.
