About the Role

HCA Healthcare UK has an exciting opportunity for a Patient Navigator to join our dynamic team.


As a Patient Navigator, you will be responsible for the coordination of patient appointments and activity related to patient tests, including bloods, cardiac, lung function and diagnostic tests within The Harley Street Clinic.

You will also be responsible for delivering a five-star service and guiding the patient through the HCA pathway to ensure a seamless booking experience.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To act as point of contact for patients, consultants, referrers where diagnostic tests are required liaising with all parties as required
  • Liaising with patients and insurers in relation to PMI cover
  • Providing advice and support to selffunding patients in respect of cost of diagnostics
  • Building working relationships with HCA diagnostic departments within the Tristar location
  • To liaise with business office staff regarding preauthorisation of tests, changes to scheduled tests and late booking for preauthorisation to be processed
  • To assist patient flow and timelines in liaison with the respective department where tests will be carried out
  • To manage telephone calls, communicating professionally and efficiently with staff, patients as well as redirecting calls as necessary in a timely manner
  • To ensure patients and staff are kept informed of any delays and proactively manage situations
  • To ensure appropriate forms are completed by the requesting Consultant for the tests required
  • To store precompleted forms in advance of the test in an appropriate location and send electronic copy to the relevant department prior to the test
  • Coordinate and lead on service and activity audits for example: waiting times for tests, time taken for next available appointment
  • To ensure that all systems are accurately updated in the process

  • Resourceful attitude, taking initiative to overcome barriers, identify pragmatic workarounds and to deliver under pressure
  • Proactive able to work independently without supervision
  • Punctual with excellent time management
  • Good team player with a willingness to provide support to other members of the team
  • Have an awareness and understanding of cross cultural needs
  • Experience liaising with the managers and staff at all levels
  • Computer literate with strong proficiency in MS Office
  • To accept and observe the need for strict confidentiality
Desirable

  • Understanding of Private Healthcare market and private funding mechanisms
  • Understanding of Meditech System
  • Experience liaising with Private Medical Insurance companies
