Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a primary SEN provision in Bradford.
We are working with a cluster of special needs schools in Bradford specifically catered to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and complex needs.
In this role, you will support students with a range of learning needs and support students with challenging behaviour.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with special educational needs to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support to students with SEN to help them engage effectively in learning activities.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes positive learning experiences for all students.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- Support the students with their lessons and activities.
- Be a role model and encourage positive behaviour
- Be confident with behaviour management and deescalation strategies.
- An optimistic outlook and determination to make a difference to children's education.
- Assist with personal care when required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs.
- Knowledge of different learning styles and strategies to support students with diverse needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Relevant qualifications in education or special education are desirable.
- Level 2 Team Teach is desirable, although this training can be offered by us.
- Have proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
