Job Purpose

Markets Conduct Risk works with Markets and Securities Services (MSS) and functions including Compliance, Operational Risk and Internal Audit, to support identification, evaluation and management of conduct risks inherent in MSS Trading and Sales businesses.

The Conduct Risk Framework team is part of Markets Conduct Risk and maintains the framework used for identifying and assessing conducts risks and evaluating related controls, as well as performing thematic risk assessments and executing conduct control testingacross MSS.

The primary mission of the Conduct Risk Framework team is to facilitate senior management in identifying and measuring conduct risks, and evaluating and remediating related controls, thereby supporting responsible provision of financial services to clientsand effective risk management for the firm.

As part of the Conduct Risk Framework Team, The Framework & Reporting team manages all aspects of the conduct risk assessment framework used in MSS, including reporting of risk assessment results to Senior Management.


Key responsibilities:


This role is to support execution of the processes required to maintain the conduct risk assessment framework used in MSS, and provide impactful and insightful reporting of risk assessment outputs to Senior Management.


Key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Independently lead the periodic review of MSS' conduct risk profile and maintenance of the conduct risk taxonomy
  • Overseeing review of conduct risk events (internal and external) and changes in industry standards for management of conduct risk
  • Monitoring of MSS' inherent and residual conduct risk profile and lead appropriate reporting to Senior management
  • Monitor the periodic maintenance of the framework of MSS conduct risk policies and procedures
  • Continuous improvement of all processes required to maintain the conduct risk assessment framework, and to challenge the status quo when appropriate
  • Developing excellent stakeholder relationships across first line of defence, Independent Compliance Risk Management and Operational Risk
  • Leading the identification of conduct risk controls and appropriate reporting to Senior Management
  • Structuring appropriate work streams and maintaining a rolling calendar of activities
  • Supervising, reviewing and supporting the delivery of Framework & Reporting team members

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:


  • Strong understanding of conduct risks, and related controls, associated with trading and sales activities
  • Strong knowledge of risk management practices, including inherent risk assessment, control evaluation and residual risk measurement
  • Extensive experience of supporting governance processes over risk assessment frameworks
  • Extensive experience in drafting and consolidating conduct risk metrics and reporting them appropriately to senior management
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver rigour in execution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to support impactful communication with senior stakeholders
  • Excellent (Advanced) skills in working with MS Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, other)
  • Structured, methodical thinker with an ability to lead and coach a small team.

Qualifications:

College/university education preferred, but appropriate industry experience & exceptional delivery track record is as important.
