The Role:
As a dynamic and dedicated Volunteer Coordinator, you will be responsible for the recruitment, engagement, and coordination of volunteers who share your passion for education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Volunteer Recruitment and Onboarding: Develop and execute effective strategies to attract, screen, and welcome volunteers.
- Engagement and Retention: Cultivate strong relationships with volunteers, offering guidance, support, and recognition.
- Volunteer Coordination: Match volunteers to roles that align with their skills, interests, and availability.
- Training and Development: Organise training sessions and workshops.
- Communication and Collaboration: Foster open and effective communication with volunteers, staff, and stakeholders to facilitate information sharing, coordinate activities, and promote a collaborative environment.
- Database Management: Maintain accurate volunteer records, databases, and tracking systems to monitor volunteer engagement and assess their impact.
- Event Support: Collaborate closely with programme managers to ensure events receive the volunteer support required, providing guidance and supervision as necessary.
- Evaluation and Reporting: Collect valuable feedback from volunteers, assess the effectiveness of the volunteer programme, and provide regular reports to management.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in coordinating volunteers, preferably within a nonprofit or charity setting.
- Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
- A deep passion for STEAM education and a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.
- Proficiency in using volunteer management software, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a teamoriented environment.
