Description

The University has a simple aim - to transform lives, shaping futures for our students and the Sheffield City Region, creating knowledge which makes a real difference, and becoming a beacon for what a world-leading applied University can achieve.

We have put in place many of the building blocks for exceptional success: a coherent institutional and employability strategy based on compelling ideas in clear language, a simple but flexible academic structure and a cogent, student focused professional services structure.

We are passionate about the quality of the student experience, particularly in relation to preparing students for the world of work and their future graduate success.

We have developed our civic role within the city and the region and delivered research and innovation with global impact.

You will be joining an ambitious and bold institution whose purpose is to enable students to collaborate, engage, challenge, and thrive throughout their course and beyond.

The vision that I hold is for Sheffield Hallam University to be a stellar University that is dedicated to empowering student futures, providing exceptional careers and employability which is impactful and meaningful to their future.

As Head of Careers and Curriculum Integrated Employability, you will be part of the senior management team in the Directorate of Business, Enterprise, Skills, and Employability.

You will have a pivotal role in the University's ongoing future success by leading and delivering an inclusive, collaborative, and adaptive approach to curriculum integrated employability across the breadth of our academic portfolio, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

You will demonstrate expertise and experience of careers and employability education through a learning, teaching and assessment lens.

You will lead future design of curricula and quality assurance to accentuate the potential of each course to deliver student employability success which makes Hallam distinctive from other institutions.

You will be creative and brave in your approach to curriculum activities with a determination to prove impact and evolve this towards graduate success.

You will recognise and value the importance and impact of all modes of curriculum-based work experience, facilitating its growth towards achieving ambitious targets.

You will have an inclusive, and inspirational coaching-based approach to leadership; encouraging ideas, initiative, and innovation.

You will work alongside the Head of Student Futures and take these fields to their next level, by being bold, responsive to change and always putting students first.

You will provide strategic leadership and enable collaborative delivery which compliments and adds value to our award-winning employability and enterprise approach.

In leading and delivering against this important agenda, you will champion the University's commitment to realising the graduate success our students and the University want to achieve.

Employability at Hallam provides the backbone for being an applied University. It is everyone's responsibility and links everything that we do.

This role provides a rare opportunity to influence, evolve and nurture a multi-service team at an institution where employability is highly valued, respected, and championed.

The University may be able to sponsor the employment of international applicants in this role; this will depend on a number of factors specific to the individual applicant.
