Purpose:

The Assistant Merchandiser position is a new role focused on supporting the merchandise business of Manchester United. The role will report to the Senior Merchandising Manager.

The business operates across product licensing, wholesale, ecommerce and physical retail and the role will provide analysis and trading insight to help shape performance.


The Role:


TRADING - ECOMMERCE & MEGASTORE

  • Producing & presenting trade slides, driving out clear weekly trade actions for the team, adapting analysis and actions to the trading environment.
  • Takes lead role in managing all product attribution (through attribution bible).
  • Collates pricing proposals weekly for sign off with JM/SMM; including any store requests but driven by overall stock file review of slow sellers and fragmented sizes.
  • Manages product trade plans; updating delivery dates and adding in new products.
  • Collates key launch trackers ensuring product is on track in line with trading calendar.

ORDER MANAGEMENT

  • Collates wholesale order files to MU Partners and raises POs ensuring relevant trackers updated.
  • Updates range plans with relevant info including partner order quantities and confirmed delivery dates.
  • Proposes rebuys on continuity monoband styles through linecards. Identifies ideal quantity and size ratio based on performance and supplier lead times.
  • Sizes and raises POs on all orders; updating PO trackers and range plan accordingly.

PO / STOCK MANAGEMENT

  • Works with Retail Ops team to ensure end to end process of PO complete including raising POs, providing relevant product code/barcode info to supplier, product set up and booking in with warehouse.
  • Provides delivery updates to wider MUFC/Partner teams where required.
  • Manages and communicates launch trackers for key product launches.

ANALYSIS

  • Adhoc analysis requirements to support wider business functions.

  • A high level of commercial awareness, with a track record of turning analysis into strategic initiatives.


  • Numeric

  • A high level of numeric capability, with the ability to manipulate and interpret large quantities of data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced in Excel
  • Experience working at Assistant Merchandiser level in retail Strong organisational and planning skills
