Stores Operative

Salary:
£26,000 - £27,000

Location:
Cambridge

Hours:
Monday to Friday - 8:00am - 16:00pm


Proactive currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Stores Operative to begin work for a leading engineering company based in Cambridge.


Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit at least one additional Stores Operative to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the stores function is well maintained throughout this new and excited influx of work.


You will be responsible for:


  • Printing off daily picking lists, and picking the parts required for the fitters in their machine build.
  • Kitting the parts and delivering it to the relevant assembly bay.
  • Goods in receiving components from couriers
  • Checking documentation and quality to ensure there is no damage.
  • Booking in the components, scanning them onto the SAP system, then storing the part into its designated location in the stores.
  • Shipping spares to customers all over the world.
  • Working with courierspecific systems to send and track the delivery. This could be anything from a small component to a complete machine.
  • Inventory management, ensuring stock levels are accurate to minimise delays on machine builds.
  • This could be spot checks, planned inventory and stock takes, and reporting the results.
  • An experienced Stores Operative, ideally with experience working within a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment.
  • IT literate, and ideally have experience working with stock control systems such as SAGE scanning, printing off picking lists, etc.
  • A proactive person, someone not afraid to ask questions and who does not require micromanaging
