Job description

Bromley & Croydon Women's Aid is seeking to recruit a
Training and Engagement Officer who is passionate about working to raise awareness of domestic abuse and provide training in education/youth settings and the wider community.

We are a well-established, innovative and forward-thinking domestic abuse service based in South London and are seeking a self-motivated, flexible and experienced individual to join our dynamic team to help us deliver excellent services to vulnerable women and girls who have experienced domestic abuse and who is committed to working in a non-discriminatory manner.

The post holder will be passionate about informing and inspiring young people in a range of settings, including education, youth, statutory, voluntary and private organisations, as they will be required to deliver training on domestic abuse to, for example, school groups and clubs as well as healthcare professionals, housing officers and others in the community.

The person we are looking for will have experience of delivering dynamic training, working with young people, administrative planning, awareness of current domestic violence legislation and good knowledge of the needs of women and children witnessing or experiencing domestic abuse.

This role is key to increasing referral pathways to the organisation's services and facilitate earlier intervention.

You should be able to show relevant training or qualifications and you must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

You must be willing to travel locally around the borough.

A driving licence and access to your own vehicle would be beneficial, although the role could be done using public transport.

All staff have access to hot-desking at our offices in London SE20 as needed.

Flexible working is encouraged at BCWA, with a mix of home and location-based working across our friendly and supportive team.

We are all women with families and busy lives and we understand that flexibility can be crucial in supporting women in the workplace.

As a trauma-informed charity we take mental health and wellbeing seriously.

We offer clinical supervision to our frontline team, monthly staff wellbeing sessions, use of our Employee Assistance Programme and an additional wellbeing platform which offers a range of advice and support.
