We have recently gained a new package of care bringing many fresh and exciting opportunities to join our new team in Barnsley.


We are looking for compassionate and committed Healthcare assistants in Gateshead, who are passionate about delivering the highest quality two-to-one care for our service user, building positive relationships with them and their family while enabling them to live as independently as possible in their family home.


Meet our service user


Our service user is a 7-year-old boy who lives in Barnsley with his loving family and requires support with his complex care needs throughout the day on a 2:1 basis.


He is generally a happy boy who is known to always have a laugh and enjoys the interaction from those around him, he loves to spend quality time with his family and care team and enjoys engaging in his learning as he home schooled.


He enjoys listening to music, being read to, and exploring a variety of sensory activities including playing in his sand pit.


Our service user does have his own hydrotherapy pool and enjoys spending time in their, it is essential that our ideal care team are comfortable to assist with this


Throughout the day you will provide support with his personal care, moving and handling, and attending to his clinical care needs when required.

You will assist him to enjoy his hobbies and interests and as he is home schooled you will provide support with his learning and engagement on a 2:1 basis alongside his teacher.


Our service user has specifically requested for female staff to work on their team

Essential Experience Required

  • 3 months previous care experience
  • Personal Care
  • Moving and Handling
  • Medication Administration

Desirable Experience

  • Cerebral palsy awareness
  • Nebuliser care
  • Oral and nasal suctioning *Seizure management
  • PEG Feeding

We have the following shifts available;

  • Part Time Days available
  • 23 shifts per week
  • Term Time Only
  • Monday
  • Friday
  • 9:00am3:30pm

We are currently paying £14.50 per hour for this position (Approx. £94.25 per 6.5-hour shift)

This is a personally rewarding role where you can build on your clinical skills and experience, whilst delivering exceptional care and support to our service user, really making an impact on his day-to-day life.
