Working in collaboration with site teams the Quality Assurance Officer (Supply Chain) will play a key role in the assurance of incoming and outgoing goods to ensure cost effective delivery of products that consistently meet customer, kitemark and legislative requirements.

Through the provision of quality assurance support to the logistics department, ensuring incoming and outgoing goods conform to Customer, UK and International standards and robustly following up non-conformances the Quality Assurance Officer (Supply Chain) ensures our business reputation is protected and enhanced as a class leading quality manufacturing company.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the logistics department verify incoming and outgoing goods are checked and conform to customer, quality, and legislative requirements.
  • Carry out routine inspection of yard stock to ensure it complies with product and customer quality standards.
  • Train and coach logistics employees on quality standards relevant to their work.
  • Audit to Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in management systems and lead improvement initiatives as required.
  • Implement a robust system for management of nonconformances that drives accountability and ownership of issues.
  • Support in the investigation of supplier, customer, and internal issues to ensure root cause is identified and effective corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.
  • Carry out compliance audits of logistics operations to ensure adherence to quality systems and procedures ensuring appropriate action is taken.
  • Audit to Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in management systems and lead improvement initiatives as required.
  • Assist in improvement projects to drive improvement in finish product, supply chain quality management systems and processes including the development of quality standards, SOPs and forms.
  • Contribute to the development of the team through active involvement in team meetings, objectives, project work and proactively ensure business and departmental objectives are achieved.
  • Importantly, you will represent Quality and ensure impartiality when making quality related decisions.
  • Promote development of interdepartmental communications and collaboration.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • A strong team player, with highly cooperative approach, you will be committed to supporting the team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential with the flexibility to deal with individuals at all levels, and the ability to cover shifts.
  • Good organisational and coordinating skills with ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment, capable of prioritise and take initiative when required.
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively with external stakeholders and within and across teams, are key requirements for this position.
  • Ability to train and share expertise with others.
  • Ideally a trained Internal Auditor.
