Description

As part of our work to open-up the Health Systems Architecture in Wales, we are looking for a Senior Product Specialist.

You'll be joining our new API Platform Team supporting the large-scale publication and adoption of APIs and Web Services through the Apigee API Management platform.

The work will involve collaboration with API publishers and consumers, developing API standards, assurance of APIs from providers and assisting in the establishment of an API community.

You will be a key enabler of our API First approach and its principles. You will be driving the delivery of APIs that provide the entry points into our architecture and product sets.

As well as the content, documentation and assurance focus, there will be an opportunity to exercise technical skills within the production and configuration of API products.

Ultimately the goal is to make it easier for NHS Wales colleagues to publish APIs and for stakeholders to consume while adhering to API standards, governance, and security; developing digital Healthcare technology in Wales.

As a Senior Product Specialist in the API Platform Team, you will:

  • Drive an Overall API-First approach
  • Work with API publishers and consumers and establishing an API community
  • Assist with the assurance of APIs
  • Ensure APIs are documented to a common standard
  • Develop and test new APIs and assist product owners with their API lifecycle
  • Identify and implement service improvements
  • Provide oncall support
This post is fixed term/secondment until 31/03/2025 to meet the needs of the service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
