Description
We are looking to recruit a premises assistant to join our Premises Team. The Taylor Institution Library is one of the University of Oxford's principal research libraries.

It is the centre for the study of modern and medieval European languages and literatures, together with linguistics, world cinema, and women's studies.


You will be part of a team responsible for the smooth and secure running of the Taylor Institution, and for ensuring that rooms are set up as required for lectures and events.

Regular duties will include opening the building, reception duties, moving furniture and carrying out some basic cleaning and maintenance tasks when required.

You will be required to work some of your hours at the Sackler Library.

You must have experience in dealing with the public and possess good communication skills.

You should be able to undertake work of a physical nature and be reliable, punctual and flexible as regards working hours.

Previous experience in general security duties and maintenance would be helpful. The role involves regular manual handling and use of stepladders.


This is a permanent full time role, working 36.5 hours per week as follows: Monday to Friday from 8.15 am to 4.33 pm with one hour unpaid lunch.

Some cover outside core hours may be required on an occasional basis.
