Senior IT Support Engineer

Location:
Leicester, Leicestershire, England


Salary:
£35,000 - £40,000


We are looking for a highly motivated Senior IT Support Engineer to join an innovative and rapidly growing IT and Telecoms company.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide technical support and solutions to our customers
  • Troubleshoot problems, carry out system tests and recommend solutions
  • Install, configure and maintain hardware and software systems
  • Monitor system performance and provide proactive solutions
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain documentation
  • Train users on systems and software
  • Liaise with vendors to ensure timely resolution of problems

Technical Skills Required:


  • Extensive experience in a similar role
  • Indepth knowledge of Windows Server (2008, 2012, 2016)
  • Expertise in Windows Desktop Operating Systems (XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10)
  • Knowledge of Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.)
  • Expertise in VMware/ Hyper-V/ Citrix
  • Experienced in Office 36
  • Proficient in Microsoft Exchange
  • Expertise in Firewalls, Routers and Switches
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to write technical reports
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Vendor certifications are a plus
